JoAnn Fabrics is a retailer store based in Hudson, Ohio specializing in fabrics and crafts and is operating retail chains Jo-Ann Fabrics and Jo-Ann Etc. It was founded by Berthold and Hilda Reich in 1943 and their friends Mathilda and Sigmund Rohrbach opened imported cheese store in Cleveland. Then they removed the cheese and incorporated fabrics and opened its first evern Cleveland Fabric shop. Its expansion in the 1950 led into the new name of the company, JoAnn Fabrics. In 1999, it became a publicly held corporation traded on American Stock Exchange under the name of Fabri-Centers of America, Inc. It opened stores in shopping malls in the 1970s and left most malls in the 1980s and added floral and crafts. Their stores offer classes in various areas of crafting including knitting, quilting, crochet and many others.
